It is being reported that Adidas Basketball will make a new third throwback jersey for the Cleveland Cavaliers for the upcoming 2012-13 season. These jerseys reportedly, to be worn for specific Retro Nights, will be the infamous black and electric blue from the days of Shawn Kemp. They will be a part of the REV30 line, by Adidas, and will be available for retail.

The Revolution 30 line of jerseys will be worn by all the teams in the NBA this season, yet 12 of the teams will get specific retro jerseys to signify a specific time in the franchise's history. The Phoenix Suns will pay homage to the Charles Barkley era, the old-school cartoon-ish Toronto Raptors jerseys, the Glen Robinson  Milwaukee Bucks jerseys, and the Atlanta Hawks jerseys from the Dikembe Mutombo period, amongst others.

All the jerseys worn in the NBA this year are expected to be lighter and have quick-drying technology. They are also made from a recycled material that is supposed to cut down the rubbing of the jersey on the player's skin. While that is not a problem players generally complain about, it does seem good that they will be more comfortable.

The Cavaliers are no strangers to third jerseys, especially throwback ones, having had them as recently as 2010. While some may associate the jerseys with bad memories and bad luck, this new, young, Cleveland team will look to erase those old highlights and bring excitement back to The Q on those Retro Nights.

It is yet to be released when these jerseys will be debuted, or when fans will be able to begin purchasing them, but rest assured Cavaliers 101 will let you know.
