Rookie Dion Waiters led Cleveland with 23 points, hitting 9 of 13 shots from the field. Kyrie Irving put up 17 points along with 8 assists. Coming off the bench, Daniel Gibson went 5 of 7 from beyond the arc, finishing with 19 points.
Shannon Brown, a former first round pick of the Cavs, scored 12 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter. Brown was a huge contributor to the last rally late in the game that ultimately led to Cleveland's demise.
Coming off a loss to Golden State, it was nice to see the Cavs start off so well. It seemed like Cleveland was going to cruise to a monster win. It also demonstrated what this young team is capable of when they're clicking. While the season has been up and down so far, it is clear that there is a lot of potential on this squad. If the Cavs can manage some consistency, a late-season run at a playoff spot is a definite possibility.
